Help your students get road-ready with our 24-hour-long online education course offered through CyberActive. Approved by the Ohio Department of Public Safety (DPS), the course helps prepare new drivers for the roadway. Timed lessons require students to spend a minimum amount of time on each page before continuing. However, students may spend a maximum of four hours per day taking the course.

Assessment Information

After each chapter, students take a short quiz that they must pass to proceed to the next section. Each quiz consists of multiple-choice questions designed to prepare the student for the final exam. The score obtained on the quiz will not count against the final course score.

The final exam is online and must be passed with a score of 75 percent (38/50) in three (3) or fewer attempts.

Enrollment Restrictions

Students must be at least 15.5 years old to apply for a learner’s permit at Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) once they have completed a driver education course.

 

Completion Certificate

There are two certificates for this course:

The Certificate of Enrollment is sent to the student after they complete the first two hours of the course and must be presented at a driving school in order to begin in-car training;

The Certificate of Completion is sent to the student after they have completed the entire course and must be presented at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in order to apply for a learner’s permit.

The course satisfies Ohio’s classroom driver education requirement to earn a learner’s permit, which is required before enrolling in an in-car driving school.
