This is the second semester of a two semester course. This course continues to provide a comprehensive introduction to managing and maintaining computer hardware and software. The course closely integrates the CompTIA A+ Exam objectives to prepare students for the 220-1101 and 220-1102 certification exams. The course includes the latest trends in hardware, security, virtualization, coverage of cloud computing, Linux and Mac OS, and increased emphasis on mobile devices.

TCH330 Digital Media: Illustrator with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Adobe Certified Professional Exam. This course gives students comprehensive training in the fundamentals of design. Topics covered include identifying the purpose, audience, and audience needs for preparing images, communicating with colleagues and clients about design plans, understanding copyright and licensing, using design principles and best practices, setting up projects and utilizing the interface, managing colors, swatches, and gradients, organizing design elements, creating and manipulating visual elements, and preparing images for export to Web, print, and video.

TCH310 Digital Media: Photoshop with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Adobe Certified Professional Exam. The course covers the fundamentals of working in the design industry. It will familiarize students with the key terminology related to digital images, introduce them to the purpose, audience, and needs of preparing images, and teach them basic design principles and best practices. The course will also cover project setup and interface, document organization, creating and modifying visual elements, and publishing digital media. Students will be exposed to using layers, modifiable visibility, and nonprinting design tools; importing assets; managing colors, swatches, gradients, brushes, symbols, styles, and patterns, understanding destructive and nondestructive editing; and preparing images for export.

TCH220 Software Apps: Excel with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam. This course introduces students to the Excel application interface and covers topics related to managing worksheets and workbooks, data cells and ranges, tables and table data, formulas and functions, and charts. Students will learn how to import external data, create, and edit named ranges, apply number formats, create charts, and format text using functions. They will also learn to add and modify chart elements and apply chart styles. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to navigate the Excel application interface, create formulas, manipulate data, and create charts.

TCH110 Software Apps: Word with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam. This course teaches learners how to use the Word Application Interface and familiarize themselves with Word options. It covers topics such as navigating and customizing the ribbon, editing documents, formatting text, managing comments, and tracking changes to create professional documents.

TCH100 Software Apps: PowerPoint with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam. This course introduces users to PowerPoint 2019 and covers: managing presentations, slides, text, shapes, and images, tables, charts, and SmartArt, 3D models and media, and transitions and animations. Students will learn basic terminology, modify slide masters and layouts, add/remove properties, set up slide shows and print options, use zoom techniques, add headers and footers, apply formatting and styles, insert hyperlinks and sections, resize and crop images, create shapes, insert audio/video clips, and set transition/animation effects and motion paths.

TCH430 Digital Media: Animate with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Adobe Certified Professional Exam. This course focuses on the basics of working in the animation industry, such as identifying the purpose, audience, and audience needs for preparing content, communicating design plans, understanding copyright and permissions, key animation, and interactive media terminology. Students will learn how to use core tools and features to create and modify vector elements, manage layers, apply basic auto-correction methods, manipulate digital graphics and media, apply effects, manage audio and video, and export assets for various platforms.

Online Driver Education for Texas Students-

Help your students get road-ready with our 32-hour online driver education course offered through CyberActive. The Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) approves CyberActive Incorporated to offer an online driver education course. There are two types of instruction: block and concurrent. The block method allows students to complete the entire 32-hour online course before applying for a learner’s permit and enrolling in a driving school. The concurrent method requires students to apply for a learner’s permit after six hours of instruction. When the permit has been obtained, students must complete the remaining 26 hours of instruction while completing in-car training with a driving school. Lessons are timed, and students may only complete two hours of instruction per day.
