Each story provides a framework for students to learn vocabulary, acquire basic grammar principles, practice pronunciation, and explore cultural topics. Story and song animations, practice activities, games, and assessments encourage students to engage with the French language in a rewarding, low-stress environment. As students move through the course, they will become more comfortable with the sounds and rhythms of French. They will learn simple French phrases related to each theme, and continue to read, write, speak and listen for meaning. They will also come to recognize some of the history, practices, and products that define French-speaking cultures around the world.

Course Description

The Level 2 French course is the second year of introductory French for students in grades 3-5. Unit 1: Greetings

  • Can do Statements: 1. I can greet someone and ask for information. 2. I can introduce myself and provide basic personal information. 3. I can understand when people introduce themselves or ask simple questions.

Unit 2: Numbers

  • Can do Statements: 1. I can count by 10s from 20-100. 2. I can say how much something costs. 3. I can write something I have heard, such as simple information in a phone message.

Unit 3: Family

  • Can do Statements: 1. I can say or write something about the members of my family and ask about someone’s family. 2. I can list my family members, their ages, their relationships to me and what they like to do. 3. I can identify family member words on a family tree.

Unit 4: Appearances

  • Can do Statements: 1. I can describe how I look. 2. I can describe how a friend or classmate looks. 3. I can complete a simple online form.

Unit 5: Attributes

K12
Standard Kits

STANDARD kits contain K12 course materials that are required for completion of the course.  These kits include K12 authored materials and/or difficult to procure materials that a student needs to complete a course. Printed reference guides are not included in Standard kits.


Consumable
Materials

CONSUMABLE kits contain only those materials from the standard kit that are intended for one time use. Families who purchase a Standard kit for Child A could later purchase a Consumable kit for Child B to complete the same course.


Additional
Materials

Offered for added convenience, ADDITIONAL kits contain easily obtained materials needed for the course which a family may already have in their home. 


Learning
Coach and/or Student Reference Guides are available for purchase with some courses.  Electronic versions of these reference guides are also available within digital courses.

Course Start Date

Courses Taught by a K12 Teacher
