The K12 offering of additional elective courses provides enrichment in everything from the arts to physical education to pre-career and life skills guidance. These courses allow students to satisfy a wide range of state requirements, but, more importantly, fill out the educational experience for young adults preparing to live well-rounded adult lives. Courses in the visual and performing arts adhere to national guidelines and build important cultural knowledge while enhancing appreciation skills. Physical education follows the standards of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and helps students ensure that their growing minds are housed in healthy bodies. Other courses reinforce the life skills all citizens need to prepare for the world of work and specific vocational and avocational interests.
