TCH330 Digital Media: Illustrator with Exam Prep is MSi curriculum that prepares students for the Adobe Certified Professional Exam. This course gives students comprehensive training in the fundamentals of design. Topics covered include identifying the purpose, audience, and audience needs for preparing images, communicating with colleagues and clients about design plans, understanding copyright and licensing, using design principles and best practices, setting up projects and utilizing the interface, managing colors, swatches, and gradients, organizing design elements, creating and manipulating visual elements, and preparing images for export to Web, print, and video. Chapter 1: Working in the Design Industry • Identifying the purpose, audience, and audience needs for preparing images • Communicating with colleagues and clients about design plans • Determining the type of copyright, permissions, and licensing required to use specific content • Demonstrating knowledge of key terminology related to digital images • Demonstrating knowledge of basic design principles and best practices employed in the design industry Chapter 2: Project Setup and Interface • Creating a document with the appropriate settings for Web, print, and video • Navigating, organizing, and customizing the application workspace • Using non-printing design tools in the interface to aid in design or workflow • Importing assets into a project • Managing colors, swatches, and gradients • Managing brushes, symbols, styles, and patterns Chapter 3: Organizing Documents • Using layers to manage design elements • Modifying layer visibility using opacity, blending modes, and masks Chapter 4: Creating and Modifying Visual Elements • Using core tools and features to create visual elements • Adding and manipulating text using appropriate typographic settings • Making, managing, and manipulating selections • Transforming digital graphics and media • Using basic reconstructing and retouching techniques to manipulate digital graphics and media • Modifying the appearance of design elements by using filters and styles Chapter 5: Publishing Digital Media • Preparing images for export to Web, print, and video • Exporting or saving digital images to various file formats Chapter 6: Project Test Preparation This content is practice intended to help prepare for the Adobe Certified Professional Exam and is not scored.
