Help your students get road-ready with our 32-hour online driver education course offered through CyberActive. The Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) approves CyberActive Incorporated to offer an online driver education course. There are two types of instruction: block and concurrent. The block method allows students to complete the entire 32-hour online course before applying for a learner’s permit and enrolling in a driving school. The concurrent method requires students to apply for a learner’s permit after six hours of instruction. When the permit has been obtained, students must complete the remaining 26 hours of instruction while completing in-car training with a driving school. Lessons are timed, and students may only complete two hours of instruction per day.
There is no final exam; instead, the course contains “unit exams” at the end of each chapter. If students fail a unit exam, they must repeat the entire chapter before retaking it. This process can be repeated an unlimited number of times.
Students must be at least 15.5 years old to apply for a learner’s permit. Since students are required to enroll with a driving school 90 days after completing the course and cannot enroll until they have a permit at age 15.5, they should not begin this course unless they are at least 15 years old.
A Certificate of Completion is sent directly to the driving school where the student will receive in-car driving lessons or the parent/legal guardian if the student is taking parent-taught driving lessons.
Students may start and stop the course as needed.
Students may complete the course on any computer or mobile device.
Streaming videos, driving simulations, and 3D animated video games keep students engaged.
This course satisfies Texas’s classroom driver education requirement to earn a learner’s permit and restricted driver’s license.
